About the Photographer

Photography is not just a hobby but a passion.  I took up the art of photography 10 years ago and fell in love with the process of black and white film processing.  The darkroom became a second home.  The world of technology has taken us away from film processing and into a digital era.  Even though I am rarely in the darkroom as I used to be, my excitement for photography has not faded.

Capturing special moments for people is important to me.  I feel as though the subjects of my photos are a part of my family, and I do my best to capture their true emotion and spirit.  Planning to start a family of my own, I understand the importance of chronicling special events.  I believe that this is best done candidly, however posed portraits have special meaning as well.

The Benefits of On-Location Photography

On location photography allows for a more comfortable setting for most clients which allows us to capture more natural candids and protraits!  Being photographed in the location of your choice allows you to express yourself as an individual.  Your portaits should be memorable for you!

Tips for Making the Most of Your Portaits

• Clothing changes are recommended.  Make the most of your session!
• Avoid extreme clothing.  You should be the center of your photos, not your clothing.  Solid colored clothing and simple cuts are the best.  Avoid bare arms when possible.  Dark colors are more complimentary to the composition of the photo.
• Have personal care items handy.  A brush, lipstick, hairspray, mirror, hair ties, etc.  Just in case!
• If taking a group portrait, make sure that everyone is wearing complimentary colors.
• Arrive on location 15 minutes early to be sure that you are prepared
